Richard Snyder, a National Board Certified teacher-librarian at Kirkland Middle School, was recently honored with the Making IT Happen jacket for his contributions to the successful integration of technology in K-12 schools. The Making IT Happen award is provided by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). During an awards ceremony at the 44th annual NCCE 2015 conference in Portland, Ore., Richard was described as a tireless advocate in inspiring educators to use 21st Century resources to benefit student academic achievement. NCCE Executive Director Heidi Rogers described Snyder’s invaluable contributions to educational technology through his many roles for NCCE. He is their Tech-Savvy Teacher-Librarian, Library of Congress Trainer and soon to be President.

“Richard is especially passionate for learning and mentoring new teachers and teacher-librarians – we are so fortunate to have him represent our members because he is a true role model,” Rogers said.
