Wolves’ Russo beats Lake Washington boys

The Lake Washington boys basketball team played one of their better games of the year Tuesday with four players scoring in double figures. But the goal of keeping Eastlake’s Michael Russo contained did not workout, as the Wolves won the contest 67-65.

The team took a six-point lead into halftime before Russo torched the Kangs to finish with 33 points. Darien Nelson-Henry (18), Dallas Searles (15), Ryan Guisness (14) and Matt Staudacher (10) led the Kangs on offense. The loss leaves Lake Washington tied for second in the KingCo 4A Crown division, one game back of division leading Inglemoor. The Kangs will travel to Inglemoor Friday for an 8 p.m. tip off that could have title implications. With a victory the team could also surpass their win total from last season with eight games left to play.
