Lake Washington girls beat Eastlake

The Lake Washington girls basketball team beat Eastlake Wednesday at home, 48-42.

The Kangs played a steady and consistent game against the Wolves, progressively building on their six-point first-quarter advantage. Eastlake made a slight run at the home team but could never get the contest back to less than a two-possession game. Lake Washington was led on offense by Sam Brender (11), Colleen Walsh (11), Katarina Whitfield (10) and Kasey Coffey (8).

The Kangs are now in second place with a 4-3 record in the KingCo 4A Crown division, behind undefeated Woodinville. Lake Washington will tip off at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Inglemoor High School, which sits just behind the Kangs in third place.
