Juanita girls score more in fourth than first three quarters combined

The Rebel girls basketball team proved to be more than the Patriots could handle during the fourth quarter Tuesday, as they blew out the team from Renton by 20 points to win the game 50-33.

The Patriots managed to keep things close during the first two quarters, as the teams entered half time tied 17-17. Liberty took a three-point lead going into the fourth quarter but Rebel Kimberly Baba took control to lead Juanita down the stretch. Out of nowhere the Rebels exploded on offense, scoring 26 points during the final eight minutes of play. The Patriots seemed stunned as they had held Juanita to just 24 points during the first three quarters. Baba led the team during the game with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Rebels are now 4-1 in 3A KingCo and 8-5 overall as they prepare for a 6 p.m. tip off Friday against Interlake at home.
