Juanita boys swim wins final meet of the season

The Juanita boys swim team nearly doubled up Bothell Tuesday, 120-66, during the final regular season meet of the year at Juanita Pool.

The Rebels were led by a sweep of the relay events during the meet. Juanita’s Max Johnson, Philip Kim, Jake Helsel and Max Stevens combined to win the first event of the afternoon, the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:54.33. Colby Rambert and Robert Boyer teamed with Halsel and Kim to take the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:41.08. Helsel, Rambert, Stevens and Boyer completed the sweep in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:53.83.

Kim completed a big day, adding victories in the 50-yard freeestyle (25.03) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.19). Johnson won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.07, while Nick Natale took first in the 100-yard butterfly. Rebel Ryan Walter proved to be the ironman of the meet by winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:48.66.
