Robber hits bank this morning – for the fourth time

A bank robber who held up the Chase Bank this morning in the Kingsgate neighborhood has hit the same bank four times since January, officials said.

A bank robber who held up the Chase Bank this morning in the Kingsgate neighborhood has hit the same bank four times since January, officials said.

In his most recent robbery, the man walked into Chase Bank shortly after 10 a.m. today and in his usual manner, passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller handed him an undisclosed amount of money and he walked out of the bank. As usual, police say nobody saw the man’s car or whether he left on foot, said King County Sgt. John Urquhart, adding that no gun was seen.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies.

Based off video footage of the four robberies, detectives believe the same man robbed the same branch – located at 14400 124th Ave. N.E. in the Kingsgate neighborhood of unincorporated King County – on Jan. 12, March 3 and May 22 this year.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s, thin to medium build, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and light-colored facial hair compared to his head hair. Today he wore a red, short-sleeve T-shirt and sunglasses.

In earlier robberies, the man had more hair, but now sports a buzz-cut.

“We’ve had serial bank robbers before, but none of us can remember a time when a robber hits only that bank,” Urquhart said, noting detectives have not found any other bank robberies attributable to this suspect.

“Either he’ll get caught in the act, which is unlikely, or someone will call in who recognizes him – that’s what we’re hoping,” he said.
