Agua Verde to celebrate grand opening at Houghton Beach Park Saturday

Agua Verde Cafe & Paddle Club has opened its second location just off the shores of Lake Washington at Kirkland's Houghton Beach Park. The grand opening is set from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 13 at 5811 Lake Washington Blvd. N.E. in Kirkland.

Free organic chips and salsa and frozen fruit smoothies will be served from 12-4 p.m. in celebration of the event.

Agua Verde’s featured fare is available seven days a week, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Houghton Beach Park’s Concession. The fresh Baja inspired menu items include Tacos de la Casa (your choice of spicy grilled catfish, smoked Alaskan salmon, grilled mahi-mahi, all-natural beef, chili rubbed free-range chicken, all natural shredded pork or sauteed organic yams); quesidillas, nachos, tortas (sandwiches) and more.

For the morning coffee crowd, breakfast burritos and a full espresso bar begins at 9 a.m.

Agua Verde Cafe & Paddle Club, which also has a Seattle location, hopes to bring kayak rentals to Kirkland soon.
