Police have arrested both suspects in the recent home invasion robbery that left a 19-year-old man with multiple cuts and stab wounds all over his body.

Blessing T. Gainey, 19, was arrested in the city of Burien on Oct. 24 and is being held on an outstanding unrelated Kirkland warrant, with the charges for the home invasion pending.

Vincent Vinny Sisounong, 21, was arrested by Kirkland police and officers from the U.S. Marshals Service on Oct. 25.

“[Kirkland Police Department] detectives would like to thank the U.S. Marshals department for their assistance in this case,” said Kirkland police Lt. Mike Murray in a news release.

Detectives collected evidence at the scene to identify Gainey and eventually Sisounong.

The two allegedly invaded a home in the Evergreen Hill neighborhood (formerly known as Kingsgate) the morning of Oct. 12.

According to Kirkland police, the man’s parents discovered their 19-year-old son was missing after finding signs of struggle and items in disarray at their home, located in the 13200 block of 136th Ave. NE.

They found the man at a neighbor’s with several injuries, including large-blade cuts and stabs on his shoulder, head and leg.

The 19-year-old escaped from the suspects and was able to get help by banging on a neighbor’s windows and doors.

Miles Calvert, the neighbor, helped him by making a tourniquet out of bungee cords to help stop his leg from bleeding so profusely.

Calvert’s father, who came to the scene after his son called him, said the family had recently moved into the home about 10 days before the incident.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is recovering.
