The annual Northwest Bookfest will draw nearly 100 writers to Kirkland on Nov. 2-3.
The festival will also feature publishing and ebook professionals, marketing experts, and 70 workshops about writing, books and e-publishing.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2-3 at the Northwest University, 5520 108th Ave., Kirkland.
The cost is a flat fee of $99 for two days of unlimited workshops on the theme of “navigating the digital age.”
A total of 18 free presentations are also open to the public on topics ranging from historical fiction and mysteries to children’s literature and science fiction. For a complete schedule of presenters, visit nwbookfest.com.
Also, from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 2, attendees can enjoy Wine & Words, a fun and creative evening of authors, appetizers and wine at three Kirkland locations:
• The Killer Poet Jazz Band will present an adults-only performance at Parkplace Books, 348 Parkplace Center. The event is presented by Michael Schein with Kenny “The Wheel of Life” Mandell (saxophone and flute) and Don “Otis” Berman (percussion).
• Romance, erotica and erotic poetry: Jennifer D. Munro, Lauren Dane, Alexis Morgan. Location: Milagro Cantina, 148 Lake St. South.
• Seattle7Writers: Deb Caletti, Garth Stein, Erica Bauermeister, Kevin O’Brien and Jennie Shortridge, moderated by William Kenower. Location: Kirkland Arts Center, 620 Market St.
