Between March 31 and April 6, the Kirkland Police Department reported 317 traffic violations (10 DUIs), 18 alarm calls, 14 car accidents, three burglaries, 10 noise complaints, 16 thefts, 28 car prowls, 10 calls for malicious mischief, eight domestic violence calls, 11 acts of fraud, six calls for animal control, 11 calls of a disturbance and five calls of harassment. At least 30 people were arrested.

April 6

Burglary: 8 a.m., 6100 block of 136th Ave. N.E. Someone stole victim’s bicycle from his unsecured garage within the last month.

April 5

Domestic: 9 a.m., 400 block of Fourth Ave. S. A verbal dispute between a married couple was mediated.

April 4

Minor, liquor violation: 1:34 a.m., 12301 120th Ave. N.E. An 18-year-old Tukwila man was found to be under the influence and was arrested.

DUI: 2:29 a.m., 6800 116th Ave. N.E. A 33-year-old Seattle man was arrested for DUI.

April 3

Warrant arrest: 10:06 a.m., 12700 100th Ave. N.E. A 53-year-old Kirkland man was stopped on a traffic violation and found to have a misdemeanor warrant for DUI. The man was taken into custody.

Warrant arrest: An 18-year-old female and a friend were contacted at the Totem Lake McDonald’s and the woman was subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant.

DUI: 1:51 a.m., 200 Central Way. A 24-year-old man was stopped for suspicion of DUI and upon contact denied it. The man performed poorly on a field sobriety test and submitted a blood alcohol content of .113. The man was arrested for DUI and cited for expired license-plate tabs.

April 2

Civil dispute: 1 p.m., 13000 block of N.E. 120th Lane. A 57-year-old Kirkland woman loaned her car to her boyfriend with the understanding he would return within an hour and he failed to return.

Disturbance: 9 p.m., 12015 124th Ave. N.E. The reporting party stated that a co-worker dragged him out of a bar. The co-worker stated that the reporting party pulled a knife on him. There were no witnesses to either complaint and both parties denied the allegations by the other. The co-worker was located inside the bar and found to have a warrant out of Colorado.

Warrant arrest: 10:43 p.m., 11600 block of 127th Lane. In response to a call of questionable activity the suspect was located sleeping in a vehicle with out-of-state plates. On contact the suspect gave a false name. After admitting to his real name the suspect was found to have outstanding warrants.

Disturbance: 12:25 p.m., 15 Lake Street. Security at Lake Street Grill received complaints that a man was taking drinks from the victim’s tables. Security escorted the man outside where he urinated on a vehicle parked in front of the business. The man was cited for the urination.

April 1

Minor, liquor violation: 11:01 p.m., 300 Central Way. A 20-year-old Redmond man was arrested for minor in consumption.

Explosive: 10200 Slater Ave. N.E. A 44-year-old man reported hearing a loud explosion at around 7:30 a.m. and thought it was a transformer. When he went out to the roadway he noticed smoke coming from the grass along the side of the road and a small tube labeled “little bomb.” He said that he did not see anyone in the area at the time or see any vehicles. An officer checked out the scene and found a small cardboard tube that appeared to be a part of a homemade explosive device. He also found a 12 by four inch patch of grass that was burned out. The officer also reported smelling fireworks gun powder at the site. The case has been referred to detectives.

Burglary: 12:30 p.m., 13100 block of 107th Place N.E. A 27-year-old Kirkland man was disturbed by being unfriended via Facebook by another Kirkland man and came to that man’s house, punched him in the face, and broke into the residence. The suspect then destroyed the inside of the residence and was charged with burglary, assault and malicious mischief.

Car prowl: 9900 block of N.E. 126th Street. A vehicle was prowled while it was parked in front of the victim’s apartment.
