Between Jan. 21-28, the Kirkland Police Department reported 335 traffic violations (three DUIs), 10 traffic accidents, 13 noise complaints, 15 thefts, seven domestic violence, 13 alarms, seven motor vehicle prowls, five car thefts, one burglary, 10 disturbances, six cases of fraud, nine harassments and three malicious mischief calls. At least 20 people were arrested.

Jan. 25

Trespass: 9:08 a.m., 25 Lakeshore Plaza. A 43-year-old man was arrested for trespassing and having liquor in the park.

Domestic: 12:10 a.m., 12200 block of N.E. 112th Place. A 33-year-old man and his wife were arguing when the man placed and held a pillow over her face. The woman attempted to get free but the man threw her on the floor and strangled her. The man repeatedly told the woman he was going to kill her. The woman did not lose consciousness but did believe she was going to die. The man was arrested for second degree assault domestic violence, harassment and threats to kill.

Jan. 24

Assist: 12:00 a.m., 10800 block of 120th Ave. N.E. A Bellevue man was arrested in Kirkland for domestic violence.

Traffic offense: A traffic stop resulted in an arrest for driving with a suspended license.

DUI: Officers responded to a silver 2007 Infinity G35 that was driving erratically. Shortly after the car was reported to have crashed into a fence. When officers arrived the man was out of his vehicle and obviously intoxicated. The man provided a blood alcohol sample of .106 and was arrested.

Theft: 3:34 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. N.E. A woman was caught shoplifting $370 worth of electronic razors from Fred Meyer.

Assault: A 44-year-old Bothell man was arrested following an altercation with J-Bay staff. The suspect had been asked to leave and refused. After being escorted out he punched the general manager in the face. After being locked out of the bar the suspect broke out the front-door window with his fist.

Jan. 23

Theft: 2:28 a.m., 11200 block of N.E. 124th Street. A 22-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for shoplifting after he stole a $7.99 bottle of wine from QFC and a witness got his license plate number. The vehicle was located outside his residents. A different 22-year-old Kirkland man was contacted in the driver’s seat of the car and was found to be driving with a suspended license.

Jan. 22

Car prowl: A Kirkland man’s car was prowled while he was eating at the Keg. A laptop computer was stolen.

Domestic: 9:24 p.m., 12000 block of Slater Ave. N.E. A man and a woman got into a verbal argument over money issues that they are having with their insurance company. Neither party stated that an assault occurred but the man had a warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Jan. 21

Warrant: 6:10 p.m., 451 Fourth Ave. South. Unwanted who were contacted in a parking lot were found to have warrants for driving with a suspended license.

Theft: A 20-year-old Stanwood woman was caught shoplifting a cart of items from the Kirkland Fred Meyer. A friend of the woman ran as loss prevention attempted to stop them. The total value of the items is $625.33.
