Conrard graduates Summa Cum Laude

Mark Conrard of Kirkland graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern Oregon University. He is a Liberal Studies major with minors in History and English Literature/Film. Commencement was June 12 in La Grande, Ore.

In addition, Conrard was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, international English honor society, on June 11 after being honored at EOU’s Awards Assembly with other Summa Cum Laude graduates. He also was honored by being selected as a nominee for EOU’s 2010 President’s Scholar.

Conrard transferred to EOU after receiving his A.A. with an English concentration from Bellevue College where he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, international honor society for two-year colleges. He also is a graduate of the Lake Washington School District’s Family Learning Center (FLC) where he is a member of the National Honor Society. After attending Ben Franklin Elementary School for several years Conrard was home schooled. He later enrolled in FLC, a “choice” school that offers classes and other support for home schooling students.
