Woman nearly bites off man’s nipple during assault | Kirkland police blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.

Between Dec. 8-14, there were 748 total incidents, including 96 traffic incidents, 24 traffic accidents, four DUIs, 31 general traffic incidents, three incidents involving illegal drugs, 40 alarm calls, five abandoned vehicles, four burglaries, eight incidents of fraud, eight civil incidents, 10 cases of harassment, 17 thefts, 12 vehicle prowls, four vehicle thefts, seven warrants served, five noise complaints, two animal calls, 13 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 13 disturbances, one sex offense, nine hit and runs and 23 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Dec. 8

Warrant: 3:52 p.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; An 18-year-old man turned himself in to KPD on his outstanding felony warrants for 1st-degree robbery and 2nd-degree assault, with bail set at $50,000. The man was taken into custody without incident and taken to King County Jail.

Dec. 9

DUI: 2:44 a.m., 8700 block of 126th Ave. NE; Police contacted a 43-year-old man after observing him drive his SUV the wrong way on 126th Ave NE, causing other vehicles to move out of the way. The driver was observed to be intoxicated and was arrested for DUI.

Dec. 10

DUI: 12:09 a.m., 11500 124th Ave. NE; Witnesses reported a 41-year-old man for driving recklessly in the Dub Pub parking lot. The man resisted arrest but was taken into custody for DUI and was booked into SCORE due to a prior DUI conviction in 2012.

Domestic: 5 a.m., 12000 block of108th Ct. NE; A 23-year-old man stated he and his 54-year-old roommate got into an argument. The roommate grabbed his own gun from a safe, cocked it and then threw money at the victim and called the victim names. The victim said the gun was never pointed at him and there were no threats made. The roommate left prior to police arrival, but was arrested the next day on one count of harassment.

Stolen property: 9:17 a.m., 11800 block of Slater Ave. NE; Police discovered a 42-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman asleep in a 2017 Dodge Challenger with no front license plate and a rear plate belonging to a 2007 Dodge truck. The vehicle was stolen out of a Seattle dealership and the plate stolen off a truck at the same dealership. The man was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and the woman arrested on warrants.

Assault: 10:44 a.m., 12200 block of NE 124th St.; A 42-year-old Bellevue man and a 44-year-old woman, got into a verbal argument in their room at the Comfort Inn. During the argument, the man assaulted the woman and strangled her. The man was taken into custody for 2nd-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Assault: 1:30 p.m., 11500 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 47-year-old Bothell woman struck a 35-year-old Kirkland woman in the face with her hand, causing pain over presumed infidelity with her boyfriend. The suspect admitted the assault and was arrested and cited for 4th-degree assault.

Dec. 11

Warrants: 1:30 a.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; A 19-year-old man was contacted at the QFC and found to have a Redmond PD theft warrant with bail set at $1,000. The man was arrested and transported to the warrant meet.

Domestic: 6:30 a.m., 12700 block of NE 116th St.; A 39-year-old man grabbed his girlfriend around the throat with both hands and lifted her off the ground. The woman did not lose consciousness, but was close. The man then let go and punched her on the left side of her head with his closed fist, and pushed her backward in the chair she was sitting in. The suspect fled prior to arrival of law enforcement, but was arrested and charged with 4th-degree assault, domestic violence.

Assault: 9:03 a.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; A 21-year-old Bothell man traded a 27-year-old Bothell man a pair of rings for heroin. After he was high, the man decided he wanted one of his rings back and returned to the apartment where he had made the trade. The two men, who were both under the influence of drugs, got into a scuffle and the older man punched the younger man in the face. The suspect was arrested and cited for assault and released.

Dec. 12

DUI: 1:54 a.m., 9700 block of NE 120th Place; A witness reported a friend had left a bar and had been drinking heavily. Police observed a 25-year-old Renton woman in a vehicle matching the witness description driving 60 mph on 116th St. toward I-405. Upon a traffic stop, the woman showed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUI.

Assault: 12:02 p.m., 12600 block of NE 124th St.; A 25-year-old woman and 23-year-old man got into a verbal argument over a credit card and cats. The woman tried to get her credit card back, and the man lightly smacked the woman in the face. The woman pushed the man, who encircled the woman around the back of the neck to hold her close. The woman nearly bit the man’s nipple off to get away. The woman was seen as the greater aggressor and was arrested for 4th-degree assault, domestic violence.
