Between March 14-20, the Kirkland Police Department reported 549 traffic violations, five DUIs, 32 school zone traffic violations, three animal calls, 32 alarm calls, 22 noise complaints, three juvenile crimes, 10 calls of disturbance, 16 calls for civil disturbance, 20 thefts, eight car prowls, three car thefts, 22 traffic accidents, four reported burglaries, 11 domestic violence calls, three calls for harassment, one report of illegal drugs, two alleged assaults, 52 acts of fraud, eight malicious mischief reports, one robbery and three calls for suicide. At least 41 people were arrested.

March 20

Assault: 8:30 a.m., 10000 block of NE 138th Place. A 25-year-old man was taken into custody for assaulting his 20-year-old girlfriend of eight months. He also broke several plates and two of her dining room chairs.

March 19

Theft: 12:51 p.m., 12534 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 41-year-old man was arrested at home after admitting to stealing items from Denny’s Pet World.

March 18

Warrant: 3:10 a.m., 13800 block of 108th Ave. NE. A 24-year-old woman was arrested on her Seattle felony warrant for the possession of prescription pills.

March 17

Eluding police officer: 8:35 p.m., 12000 block of NE 80th St. A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody for attempting to flee officers as they made a traffic stop. Through an investigation, officers found a rope with a noose in the boy’s vehicle and he was involuntarily committed to EvergreenHealth Medical Center. He later admitted to wanting to hang himself at the high school that night.

March 16

Assault: 2:22 a.m., 13500 block of 118th Ave. NE. A 14-year-old boy was arrested for assaulting his 57-year-old father with an air soft gun, homemade sock weapons filled with metal parts and two steak knives that were thrown. After the series of confrontations, the boy grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed his father in the back. His father was treated at Harborview Medical Center. Several items at the scene were taken as evidence, including a towel used to stop the bleeding and a knife found in the kitchen sink, which caused blood stains.

Warrant: 3:44 p.m., 20 block of Central Way. A 45-year-old man was arrested on an indecent exposure warrant from Seattle.

March 15

Domestic violence: 10 p.m., 12700 block of NE 124th St. A 20-year-old woman and 23-year-old man got into a verbal argument over their relationship issues. The man attempted to grab his girlfriend’s arm as she walked away from the argument. She broke away from him and ran into Sherman Williams Paint where she was able to call police. The police report states no crime occurred.

Assault: 12:36 a.m., 200 block of Central Way. A 28-year-old man was arrested for punching a 22-year-old man in the mouth as he left from Time Out Tavern.

Warrant: 9 a.m., 6900 block of 116th Ave. NE. A 43-year-old transient man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after some “name game play” at the South Kirkland Park and Ride.
