How often did you visit a Kirkland park this past year? What recreation programs are important to you and how satisfied are you with what Kirkland offers?

The city of Kirkland is asking residents about what makes Kirkland’s parks, trails, natural areas, and recreation facilities and programs great and what’s needed in the future to make them even better.

Residents are encouraged to take a brief online survey at www.kirklandwa.gov/parkssurvey by Nov. 3 to share their experiences and opinions.

Information gathered from the survey will be used to help the city update Kirkland’s Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan. The plan will guide the city’s planning efforts and establish a road map for providing parks, trails, natural areas and recreation services throughout Kirkland for the next six to ten years.

The draft updated plan is anticipated to be presented to the to the City Council for its consideration in the spring of 2014.  For further information, contact Michael Cogle, deputy director, Parks and Community Services Department at mcogle@kirklandwa.gov  or (425) 587-3310.

The survey is part of the city’s Kirkland 2035 public involvement campaign.  To receive updates on this plan and other long range plans, visit www.kirklandwa.gov/kirkland2035 or share your ideas at www.ideasforum.kirklandwa.gov.
