Between Jan. 24-30, the Kirkland Police Department reported 543 traffic violations, seven DUIs, 25 school zone traffic violations, three animal calls, 19 alarm calls, 13 noise complaints, 11 calls of disturbance, 21 thefts, 14 car prowls, 17 traffic accidents, 16 calls of civil disturbance, six reported burglaries, four domestic violence calls, seven calls for harassment, five reports of illegal drugs, three alleged assaults, nine acts of fraud, seven malicious mischief reports, one sex offense and seven suicide calls. At least 44 people were arrested.

Jan. 30

Trespass: 8:35 p.m., 11800 block of 97th Lane NE. A 30-year-old man was arrested on a Redmond warrant and a 20-year-old woman was arrested on outstanding warrants, giving false information to police and possession of drug paraphernalia. Six others were also trespassed from the apartment property.

Jan 29

Theft: 9:42 p.m., 14444 block of 124th Ave. NE. A 25-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting alcohol from the Kingsgate Safeway. A store customer witnessed the man take three half gallons of alcohol, a 12-pack of Blue Moon beer, pistachios, Mountain Dew and an apple juice. The suspect told police he was planning on trading the items for food since he was unemployed.

Jan. 28

Harassment: 8:30 p.m., 14200 block of 117th Ave. NE. A 22-year-old man was arrested for making threats to kill a 21-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man at their home. An audio recording was taken as evidence.

Assault: 1:20 a.m., 2000 block of Market St. A 50-year-old man was arrested for “severely damaging” his 52-year-old wife’s wrist. She was taken to EvergreenHealth Medical Center after she originally reported the two were in a verbal dispute that escalated into her husband grabbing her wrist and her falling to the ground.

Jan. 27

Disorderly conduct: 6:07 p.m., 13000 block of NE 70h Place. A 27-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after witnesses caught him fighting with another man in a public place.

Jan. 26

Theft: 10:30 a.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 32-year-old man was arrested for stealing BEATS Executive headphones from Costco Wholesale. Loss prevention observed the man put the $250 headphones in his backpack and exit the store without purchasing them.

Theft: 4:29 p.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 25-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting miscellaneous clothing from Costco.

Assault: 8:30 p.m., 9600 block of NE 121st Lane. A 37-year-old man was arrested for “aggressively” threatening his 60-year-old neighbor with a hatchet. The woman pepper sprayed the man in self defense. A 10-year-old girl was involved and the hatchet and pepper spray were taken as evidence.

Jan. 24

Warrant: 1 p.m., 9700 block of NE 134th Place. A 63-year-old man and his 25-year-old son were arrested on felony warrants out of Kennewick. The father’s warrant was for failure to register as a sex offender and his son’s was for second-degree theft.
