Heroin, ammunition seized after shoplifting incident at Juanita Goodwill | Kirkland police blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.

Between Feb. 9-15, there were 844 total incidents, including 142 traffic incidents, 29 traffic accidents, five DUIs, 28 general traffic incidents, four incidents involving illegal drugs, 40 alarm calls, nine abandoned vehicles, six burglaries, seven incidents of fraud, nine civil incidents, four cases of harassment, 11 thefts, 12 vehicle prowls, five vehicle thefts, 13 warrants served, seven noise complaints, one animal call, nine incidents of domestic violence, two fireworks complaints, 15 disturbances, two sex offenses, eight hit and runs and 33 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Feb. 9

Warrants: 2:05 a.m., 12000 block of 120th Place; Law enforcement contacted a 34-year-old man passed out in a vehicle at the Totem Lake Motel 6. The man was arrested on his misdemeanor warrant out of Auburn for 1st-degree trespass.

Domestic: 2:20 a.m., 12800 block of NE 143rd St.; A 37-year-old woman called to report her 39-year-old husband had threatened to kill himself after a physical altercation where he pushed her to the ground. The woman left the location to get away, but called out of concern for her husband’s welfare. Law enforcement made entry into the residence to find him unconscious from an overdose. The man was transported to Evergreen for aid and involuntary committal, and arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault.

Disturbance: 10:20 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; A 32-year-old Seattle man caused a visible and audible disturbance at the Juanita Safeway. This was the second time in the same shift officers had dealt with him for similar reasons, and the man was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Warrants: 10:24 p.m., 12400 block of NE 85th St.; A 27-year-old man was contacted outside the Rose Hill Walgreens and found to have multiple outstanding warrants. The man was taken into custody and transported to King County Jail without incident.

Feb. 10

Warrants: 4:28 p.m., 100 block of Lake St.; A 33-year-old Burien man was arrested for theft at Seduce, a women’s clothing store, after he was identified with a mobile fingerprint scanner.

Drugs: 10:36 p.m., 10600 block of NE 38th Place; An 18-year-old Bellevue man was contacted by Kirkland police in a parked vehicle. The suspect smelled of marijuana. The suspect gave consent to search his vehicle, and marijuana was found. The suspect did not have a medical marijuana card, and was arrested for unlawful possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Feb. 11

False reporting: 10:10 a.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; Law enforcement responded to a reported vehicle prowl in the parking lot of the Totem Lake QFC. After arriving, officers questioned multiple people. During the investigation, another man who was with the subjects being questioned called 911 and reported that someone had a gun at the Target in Bellevue in an attempt to get officers to clear the area. The 30-year-old man who made the call was later arrested for false reportings at the Emerson Apartments.

Warrants: 7:05 p.m., 12400 block of Totem Lake Boulevard; A 46-year-old man from Frisco, Col. was arrested on his felony nationwide extradition warrant.

Warrants: 10:39 p.m., 9700 block of NE 120th Place; Law enforcement contacted a 22-year-old man about a disturbance at Juanita Pub. The man had a felony warrant for vehicle theft and reckless driving. The man was arrested on the warrants and transported to King County Jail.

Feb. 12

Domestic: 12:30 p.m., 9200 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 50-year-old Redmond man was arrested for various felony domestic violence violations against a 36-year-old Kirkland woman, including residential burglary, domestic violence malicious mischief and interference with reporting domestic violence.

Theft: 2 p.m., 9800 block of NE 132nd St.; A 19-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at the Juanita Goodwill. The items included women’s clothing. Officers took a .44 caliber bullet for safe keeping and seized .33 grams of heroin.

Assault: 5:15 p.m., 10200 block of NE 132nd St.; A 19-year-old woman assaulted a 24-year-old woman by punching her and pulling her hair at Fairfax Hospital. Both are patients. The 19-year-old woman was charged, through investigation, for 4th-degree assault.

Feb. 13

Warrants: 7:20 p.m., 12300 block of NE 101st Lane; A 20-year-old man hit a light crossing pole with his vehicle, and was subsequently arrested on his Kirkland warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Feb. 14

Warrants: 4:55 a.m., 11600 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 26-year-old man was stopped on traffic and arrested on his Seattle misdemeanor warrant for dangerous weapons, with bail set at $1,500. The man was transported to Seattle PD custody without incident.

DUI: 11:39 p..m., 12500 block of NE 138th Place; A 35-year-old man was stopped for multiple traffic infractions. The man showed impairment on field tests and was arrested for DUI He later gave breath samples of .160 and .15, and was booked into Kirkland Jail as this was his second DUI in 10 years.
