21-year-old man arrested for driving under the influence with 0.211 blood-alcohol level | Police blotter for July 13-19

Wednesday, July 19

Theft: A 31-year-old man was arrested at 7:13 p.m. for theft after loss prevention agents in a store in the 10000 block of Northeast 137th Street witnessed him placing items from the store into his backpack. The suspect passed all points of sale and made no attempt to pay for the items. He fled to a nearby restaurant, where he was apprehended by officers.

Domestic violence: A 38-year-old man in the 11700 block of Northeast 118th Street was arrested at 12:38 p.m. for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence after getting into a physical altercation with his 16-year-0ld son and hitting him in the face multiple times.

Possession: At 12:49 a.m., a 19-year-old man was arrested in a parking lot in the 11200 block of Northeast 124th Street. He had been sitting in his vehicle when police confirmed his warrant out of Mountlake Terrace. The suspect was discovered to have 2.39 grams of powdered cocaine in his pocket.

Tuesday, July 18

DUI: A 21-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence at 3:12 a.m. after a single-vehicle collision. He provided blood alcohol concentration samples of 0.211 and 0.210. He was booked and released without incident.

Monday, July 17

Shoplifting: At 8:17 p.m., a 62-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at a store in the 9800 block of Northeast 132nd Street. The suspect had concealed merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. She was detained by the store’s loss prevention and the merchandise was recovered. The suspect was issued a criminal misdemeanor citation and was released.

Friday, July 14

Warrant arrest: A 38-year-old woman was arrested at 11:49 a.m. on a felony warrant out of Seattle after she was detained for shoplifting from the Juanita Rite Aid in the 9800 block of Northeast 132nd Street. The suspect was transported to the Kirkland Jail, where she was cleared by medics after she claimed to be feeling lightheaded and could not stand. The suspect was taken to King County Jail to be booked on her warrant.

Warrant arrest: At 12:16 a.m., a 22-year-old woman was arrested while her boyfriend was being arrested. The woman had a warrant for theft out of the King County Sheriff’s Office in Shoreline. She was transferred into the Shoreline Police Department’s custody without incident.

Thursday, July 13

Harassment: At 7:10 p.m., police received a report about harassing phone calls from the 10000 block of Northeast 142nd Place. The calls were coming from a 41-year-old man, a former employee of the reporting party. The suspect was terminated from King County Animal Services earlier in the day after a Kirkland resident recorded his demeanor at the residence and sent the video to animal services’ human resources department. The suspect blames the reporting party for his termination.

DUI: A 22-year-old woman was stopped for speeding in the 1700 block of Market Street at 1:38 a.m. During the stop, she performed poorly on a standardized field sobriety test and a preliminary breathe test showed she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.147. Later blood alcohol concentration readings showed levels of 0.126 and o.127. The woman’s vehicle was impounded and she was booked for driving under the influence and then released to her father.
