Young wrestlers help Lake Washington beat Liberty, 41-34

The Lake Washington High wrestling team picked up a victory to open KingCo Conference action on Thursday at Lake Washington High School, beating Liberty 41-34 behind big performances from several young faces.

The Kangs picked up several big matches in the lighter weights, with 113-pound freshman Marton Teichner winning by tech fall over Brent Haynes and a pin from 126-pound freshman Elijah Lux.

Sophomore RJ Hetges rallied to win the 132-pound bout by fall in the third period.

Julius Shipton won the 182-pound match and Andy Davis won the 220-pound match.

Next, the Kangs are scheduled to participate in the ER Duals on Dec. 22 at Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup before returning to KingCo action with a double dual against Juanita and Sammamish on Jan. 5 at Redmond High School.
