Two-run homer lifts Juanita past Lake Washington | Prep baseball

The Juanita High School baseball team edged Lake Washington, 6-5, with two runs during its final at-bat on Wednesday at Lake Washington High School.

The Juanita High School baseball team edged Lake Washington, 6-5, on a Zach Johanson two-run home run during its final at-bat on Wednesday at Lake Washington High School.

Juanita took an early 1-0 lead during the first but the Kangs struck back with three runs of their own during the bottom of the inning on a two-run double by Johanson and a wild pitch.

The score bounced back towards the Rebels during the top of the second, as they reclaimed the lead, 4-3.

Lake Washington tied the game during the bottom of the third and then took a one-run lead during the fourth.

But two runs during the top of the seventh put Juanita ahead for good.

Johanson, Nick Leverett and GJ Hurst combined for five hits and five RBI during the contest for Juanita.

Juanita will host Interlake at 7:30 p.m. today.

Lake Washington and Juanita will face each other again at 7:30p.m. on Friday.
