Northwest U’s Christenson and Stockton named CCC Players of the Week | College sports

Northwest University student and Bothell resident Daniel Christenson of the men's soccer team and Emmaline Stockton of the Eagle volleyball team have been named players of the week for the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Christenson was named Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Stockton Defender of the Week for Volleyball.

Northwest University student and Bothell resident Daniel Christenson of the men’s soccer team and Emmaline Stockton of the Eagle volleyball team have been named players of the week for the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Christenson was named Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Stockton Defender of the Week for Volleyball.

Christenson, a sophomore, earned two straight shutouts in the Eagles’ wins over Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon on Friday and Saturday, by the same score of 3-0, in both games. Christenson made key saves, totaling 15 in both games to post his third and fourth consecutive shutouts. Daniel has helped anchor the defense which has helped the Eagles win their past five straight games and improving from a 2-5 start to a record of 7-5.

Stockton, a freshman from Lucas Texas, ranks sixth in the CCC in digs and led the team in digs in last weekend’s matches at No. 8 Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech totaling 47 digs. She has 265 defensive digs overall and averages 3.79 dpg. Stockton also had a total of 6 service aces with a service percentage of .810 in the two game series. The NU volleyball team is 13-6 for the season, 9-4 in conference play.
