Five different Northwest University players scored for the Eagles during their 5-0 shutout of Walla Walla University on Friday in a Cascade Conference game.

Chris Iacolucci started things off for the Kirkland team when he scored in the 25th minute from an assist by teammate Jake Morse. The two teammates then switched roles and it was Morse ending up on the scoring end when he put his shot into the net at 27:25 with Iacolucci getting the assist. The Eagles would take a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Sixteen minutes into the second half, Jacob Weaver scored for the Eagles increasing their lead to 3-0. Kyle Zimmerman received credit for the assist. Then, two minutes later (63:06), Zimmerman scored his sixth goal of the season after taking Josh Peter’s pass and putting it past the Walla Walla goalkeeper.

Senior Jonathan Ellis finished the scoring for Northwest U in the 83rd minute, scoring unassisted.

Northwest U (4-5, 2-2 CCC) had an overwhelming margin on shots with 29 while the Wolves managed 9 for the day. Kyle Zimmerman led the way for the Eagles with 7 shots, 3 on goal. Daniel Christenson earns the shutout victory with five saves in goal while WWU goalkeepers, Josh Fry and Aubrey Fautheree each had 6 saves for Walla Walla (0-5, 0-5 CCC).

Northwest University now travels to Portland, Oregon, for a 3:30 p.m. conference contest with Multnomah University on Saturday.
