The Lake Washington High School football team got back on track in a big way on Friday with a 46-7 victory against Interlake in Kirkland.

The Lake Washington High School football team got back on track in a big way on Friday with a 46-7 victory against Interlake in Kirkland.

The Kangs took the game’s first lead as Adam Long found Jake Steele for a 34-yard touchdown pass to close out the first quarter.

Steele gave the Kangs a 14-0 advantage on a one-yard touchdown run during the second quarter and Long found Caleb Rickels on an eight-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 21-0 by halftime.

Steele scored his third touchdown of the game on a third quarter five-yard touchdown run.

Lake Washington took a 35-0 advantage when Long found Sean Gordon for an eight-yard touchdown pass and Connor Macomber extended the lead with a 28-yard field goal to close out the third quarter.

Interlake finally got on the board with a touchdown during the fourth quarter but the ensuing possession for Lake Washington resulted in a 73-yard touchdown run for Chet Atuanya.

With the win Lake Washington improved to 3-2 on the season and will host Shorewood at 7 p.m. on Friday.
