Mercer Island boys swimming beats Lake Washington, 113-67

The Lake Washington High boys swim team dropped a conference meet to undefeated Mercer Island, 113-67, on Thursday at the Juanita Pool in Kirkland.

The Kangs (3-1 KingCo, 3-1) won two events. Jake Rinehart took the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 6.75 seconds, just ahead of teammate Daniel Watts in 1:07.95. Mercer Island’s Nate Robinson finished third in 1:11.91.

Lake Washington’s Carlin Won won the 100 butterfly in 56.64 seconds and LW’s Hayes Raubacher finished second in 58.65 seconds.

Next, the Kangs are scheduled to compete against Bellevue at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 at the Mary Wayte Pool on Mercer Island.
