The Lake Washington girls basketball team defeated Ballard 42-29 Friday at home. The win did not come easy, as the Beavers blew past the Kangs during the first half for a 22-12 half-time lead. With a renewed sense of purpose and stifling defense, Lake Washington outscored its opponent 22-3 during third quarter. The team’s momentum continued to the final buzzer.

The Kangs were led by three players who put up double figures on the scoreboard. Sam Brender (14), Hunter Hopkins (11) and Kasey Coffey (10) led Lake Washington to the victory.

The Kangs will host Issaquah on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
