The Lake Washington baseball team finished the regular season and entered the post season race with the No. 2 KingCo seed last week.
The KingCo tournament took place this week, after Reporter deadline, at Bannerwood Sports Park in Bellevue.
Prior to beginning the tournament, the Kangs wrapped the regular season with a 3-2 win over Bellevue on Wednesday, May 4.
Though Bellevue led going into the second inning, it wasn’t long before the game was tied 1-1. The Wolverines got up by one run in the fourth, but Lake Washington hit in two for the final scores of the night in the seventh. The Kangs had nine hits and three errors in the game.
Zach Johnson was 1-3 at the plate with one RBI, a home run and a run while Chris Moore was 2-3 with an RBI.
Juanita season ends with losses to Interlake, Liberty
The Juanita baseball season came to a close last week, as the Rebels posted three losses to Interlake and Liberty.
On May 2, the Rebels played Interlake, losing 3-1, the same score the teams posted in a second match the following day.
In their last game of the season on Wednesday, May 4, Juanita fell 5-4 to Liberty.
The Rebels were up 4-3 going into the sixth inning, but Liberty earned two unanswered runs in the sixth and seventh to take the game. Juanita had five hits and one error during the game. Sean Barlow was 2-4 at the plate, with two RBI and a triple, while Chris Foss was 2-3 with two runs and Mitch Gebe hit a home run.
The Rebels finish the season 2-18 this season.
