Kirkland resident Frank Garber recently competed in the PNGA Junior Boys Amateur Championship at the Oakbrook Golf and Country Club in Lakewood, Wash.

In the bracket style golf tournament, Garber beat Grant Maskiewich from Smithers, British Colubmia, 140 strokes to 151 in the round of 32. In the second round, against Charlie Kern from Mercer Island.

Garber was tied for second in stroke play with 140 total, tied with two others, while Jamie Hall of Seattle had the lead with 139 strokes.
