The Kirkland Lux 16U All-Stars won the Northwest Colt Regional Tournament by going undefeated and earning spot in the West Zone finals July 26-29 in San Jose, Calif.

The team from Kirkland won the championship by defeating the Bothell Express All-Stars, 7-3, on July 13.

Most of the Lux victories were one-sided games. On July 10, the Lux opened the tournament with a 12-1 victory against the North Seattle All Starts. The team from Kirkland followed with a 14-9 second-round win against the KBC Battle Cats. Lux defeated Bothell, 11-5, on July 12 and then beat the Battle Cats a second time, 13-3, to reach the finals.

The team will hold a celebration fundraiser at 7 p.m. tonight at the Eagles Club in downtown Kirkland and a fundraiser at Acropolis in downtown Kirkland on July 22, where a portion of the receipts will be donated to the team. Lux players and coaches are trying to raise money to attend the West Zones. The winner of West Zones earns the right to play in the International Colt World Series in Layfette, Ind. in August.
