The Junior Softball World Series begins Sunday at Everest Park, featuring the best 13 and 14-year-old softball players in the world.

The Opening Ceremonies for the event will take place on Sunday, beginning at noon, followed by the first game of the series, featuring Southeast (U.S.) taking on Canada on Field A at 2:45 p.m. The host team, made up of girls from the Mercer Island and Bellevue area, will play Latin America at 5:45 p.m. on field A.

The tournament runs through Saturday, Aug. 21 with the championship game at 6 p.m. The title match will be broadcast live on ESPN2. All games are free of charge.
