Against Mercer Island on Monday evening in the first game of the tournament, the Rebels won a long fought battle 1-0. Niki Fausset recorded her eighth shutout of the season, the most in KingCo this season. Her teammate Tori Lee scored off an assist from Kaila Bass in the 73 minute to give Juanita the win.

Advancing to the title game, the Rebels hosted the match on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Juanita.

In the last week of regular season play, the Rebels tied with Interlake on Tuesday, Oct. 26 1-1.

Lee struck first, off an Ashland Bernard assist in the 60 minute, but the Saints earn a spot on the scoreboard with a Danielle Brandli goal, assisted by Emma Bergstrom in the 84 minute.

In the last game of the regular season the Rebels faced Lake Washington, winning 2-0 over the Kangs. Karissa Radke scored in the 29 minute, assisted by Haili Adams, followed by a Bass goal in the 59 minute.

A win on Wednesday would move the team into the crossover game with Metro, putting the team against the Metro No. 4 squad on Saturday, Nov. 6. The winner earns the No. 5 seed out of District 2 for the state tournament.

Lake Washington ends season in tiebreaker match to Mercer Island

After ending the regular season in a league standings tie with Mercer Island, the Lady Kangs faced off with the Islanders last Saturday to see which team would earn the final spot in the KingCo tournament. Lake Washington lost 2-0 in the match, ending the season.

In the last week of regular season play the team beat Sammamish 2-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Jessie Zogg scored the team’s first goal of the night, assisted by Tori Varyu, in the 39 minute. The Kangs struck again off an Emma Holm goal, assisted by Cassie Lively, in the 67 minute of the match.

Two nights later on Thursday, Oct. 28 the team lost 2-0 to Juanita in the final home game of the regular season.

The Kangs had a 5-9 KingCo and 5-12 overall record this fall.
