The Juanita girls basketball team survived the SeaKing district, earning the No. 5 seed, and faced top ranked Prairie in the regional round of the state tournament. The Rebels lost 65-28 to end the season.

Juanita started the game down 21-6 at the end of the first quarter, unable to break through offensively and missing senior captain Kate Cryderman who sat the game out, wearing a boot brace on her foot.

In the second quarter, it was much the same as the first, with a 20-6 quarter for Prairie.

After the break, Juanita’s defense kicked up another notch, holding the Falcons to 11 points in the third, while hitting seven of their own, followed by a 13-9 fourth quarter. The first half however, gave Prairie too big of a lead for the Rebels to overcome.

Mikayla Jones had eight points for the team, while Molly Grager added five, Winnie Levitt and Carla Marigmen each had three points, while Shannon Brink, Bre Carter, Tayler Lloyd and Mckenzie Waltar each had two points, while Mary Carter had one point.

The Rebels finished with a 21-6 record overall, and were 12-2 in league this season.
