Runners on the Lake Washington and Juanita cross country teams competed last week in the KingCo race, and ran in Thursday’s district race.
During the KingCo meet, held at Lake Sammamish State Park on Oct. 21, a large contingent of Rebel and Kang runners were in attendance.
Caleb Ferrell took the top boys time for Juanita, finishing in 13th overall with a 16:57 race time. Teammate James Bauman was 17th with a 17:11 time, while Santos Zaid took 18th at 17:22. For Juanita Molly Grager was fourth overall, finishing the race in 20:16.
For the Lake Washington team Devon Grove had the boys team best time, finishing in 19th overall with a 17:25 race. The Lady Kangs had three runners compete with junior Mackenzie Toher finishing 21st at 21:40, Audrey Nordness in 27th with a time of 22:02 and Olivia Whidby in 35th with a race of 23:14.
The SeaKing district race was held Thursday, after Reporter deadline, at Lower Woodland park in Seattle. The top five teams and top 25 individuals in the race will compete at the state meet Nov. 6 in Pasco.
