The Rebels started with a 16-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, which was expanded to a 26-8 lead at halftime.

The Rebels hit 26 points in the third quarter, while holding the Totems to seven points, but Sammamish added a game high of 12 points in the fourth quarter.

Kate Cryderman had 17 points during the game, while Mikayla Jones added nine, McKenzie Waltar had eight, Winnie Levitt posted seven and Molly Grager had six. Bre Carter added five, while sister Mary Carter had four. Shannon Brink scored one point.

The Lake Washington girls team also won on Monday night, beating Liberty 55-46.

The Kangs started with an 18-8 first quarter, but Liberty closed in with 13 points in the second quarter, and followed it with a 15 point fourth quarter to have a 36-35 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Lake Washington surged in the fourth, scoring 20 points to secure the win.

Whitney Dunlap had 16 points during the game, Peyton Wozeniak added 14, Hunter Hopkins had 13 and Sara Wilson hit eight. Both Cassie Lively and Margo Lynott had two points.

Both Kirkland teams are now 10-2 in league, with Juanita holding the top spot with a 15-3 overall record, while Lake Washington is 13-5 overall.

The top six teams will advance to next week’s KingCo basketball tournament, which begins Monday, Feb. 6 at the higher seed team’s gym. Details will be provided once brackets are finalized.

Juanita will play Interlake on Thursday, Feb. 2 in the final home game of the regular season, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Kangs will host Mount Si in their final regular season game on Friday, Feb. 3 at 5:45 p.m.
