Juanita won the 103 class with Thamah Truong beating Marcus Kopp by major decision 15-1 and Jonathan Twazaki beat Summer Hanson by decision in the 119 weight class. Interlake’s Douglas Mui won by forfeit in the 112 class and took the 125 class when Daniel Montoya pinned Jack Donahue in 1:20. Joey Button won the 130 group for Interlake with an 8-2 decision, but Juanita’s Riley Hiliker won the 135 weight class by pinning Taylor Sze after 4:47.

Juan Mujo won the 140 group for the Saints by forfeit, followed by Derek Kuo picking up another victory for the Rebels in the 145 class. Kuo pinned Michael Hutchinon after 3:15. In the 152 group, Jacob Marks of Interlake, pinned Michael Prystupa after 1:02, but Juanita’s Derek Reubish beat Alex Gisburt in a 9-5 major decision. With things fairly even in the scoreboard Rijel Kuhn won by forfeit, followed by Logan McCallum’s win over Netto Cancilla in the 189 group. Finishing things off were the Laufasa brothers, with Jeremiah Laufasa winnin the 215 group by decision over Chad Peterson and Darrin Laufasa beating Fine Nguauao also by decision.

Last Saturday the team traveled to the Tournament of Champions at Auburn Mountainview. One of the toughest meets the team has participated in all season, Darrin Laufasa and McCallum each earned a second place finish in their weight groups.
