Tallon Korn, a junior at Eastside Preparatory School, competed in the state-wide Track and Field Meet for Divisions 1B, 2B and 1A at Eastern Washington University in Cheney May 29-30. Korn competed in the state finals in three events: long jump, the 110-meter high hurdles and the 100-meter dash.

In his first event, the long jump finals, Korn’s four jumps of over 19 feet placed him 5th, and his longest (19’-4.5”) was within inches of second place. His second place finish in his second event, the 110 high hurdles (in 16.3 seconds) was two places better than he was seeded. Korn then followed with a state championship win in his third and final event, the 100-meter dash, winning with a time of 11.84 seconds.

Korn is Eastside Prep’s first Eagle state champion.
