The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:
Westbound State Route 520 will close tonight, Friday, Dec. 16 between Montlake Boulevard and 92nd Avenue Northeast in Bellevue. The closure begins at 11 p.m. and wraps up at 7 a.m.
Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crews working on the West Approach Bridge North Project will use the westbound directional closure to pour concrete from the existing bridge to the new permanent structure being built just north of it. Once complete, the new bridge will carry three westbound lanes from the new floating bridge to Montlake Boulevard. The work is weather dependent – heavy rains could postpone it.
Eastbound SR 520 open
Eastbound SR 520 lanes will remain open during the westbound closures. Drivers planning travel from the Eastside to Seattle should take Interstate 90 or an alternate route around Lake Washington.
Future westbound closures
Pending inclement weather, crews also plan to close westbound SR 520 overnight:
· Wednesday, Dec. 21
· Thursday, Dec. 22
· Wednesday, Dec. 28
· Thursday, Dec. 29
