Waste Management offers free tree collection Jan. 2-17 to Kirkland residents

Waste Management will collect Christmas trees free of charge between Jan. 2-17.

Waste Management will collect Christmas trees free of charge between Jan. 2-17. Trees must be no more than six feet in length; larger trees should be cut in half to meet the length requirement. Also, trees must be un-flocked and undecorated.

For single family residents, place the tree at the curb before 7 a.m. on the regular service day.

For apartment and condo residents, place the tree next to your property’s garbage dumpster.

Apartment and condo complexes located west of I-405 and north of Forbes Creek Drive or east of I-405 and north of 116th Street will be receive tree collection on Mondays and Thursdays. Apartment and condo complexes located west of I-405 and south of Forbes Creek Drive or east of I-405 and south of 116th Street will receive tree collection on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Scout Troop pickup

Kirkland residents may also wish to consider Boy Scout Troop 570’s Christmas Tree Pickup and Recycling Event to be held on Jan. 4-5. Each day between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents may place their trees at the curb for pick-up or drop off their trees at McAuliffe Park at 10824 NE 116th Street. Trees will be mulched for use by the Kirkland Parks Department.
