Turkish exchange student seeks LWSD host families

Kirkland Rotary club is accepting applications from families to host their 2009-2010 foreign exchange student, from Turkey.

Rotary club’s host students from around the world as part of an international mission to promote world peace through understanding. Rotary exchange students spend 12 months in our area going to school, living with local families, and experiencing the culture and lifestyle firsthand. Students spend three months with each host family. An allowance for school expenses and incidentals is provided to the student by Rotary, as well as constant monitoring of the student’s progress in school. All arrangements for schooling are supervised by Rotary.

The student will arrive August of 2009. She will be attending Lake Washington High School in Kirkland. Selis enjoys tennis, music, creative writing, drama and painting. She would like to become a journalist or an industrial engineer. She lives with her mother and father who are both civil engineers.
