Construction is ready to begin on the Kirkland Transit Center project in downtown Kirkland. Bayley Construction has been selected as the contractor for the project and URS Corp. will provide construction management services.

Bayley Construction has mobilized on site and a portion of Park Avenue has closed to accommodate construction field offices. Third Street between Kirkland Avenue and Central Way will close to southbound traffic on Nov. 16. One northbound lane on Third Street will remain open to vehicles throughout construction. Bus service was relocated to stops on Central Way and Sixth Street in September.
