The South Kirkland Park and Ride garage opens Sept. 5

The new South Kirkland Park and Ride garage will open with 525 parking spaces plus 235 spaces in the surface parking lot this Thursday.

The new South Kirkland Park and Ride garage will open with 525 parking spaces plus 235 spaces in the surface parking lot this Thursday, Sept. 5.

The three-story garage has seven ADA spaces, nine electric vehicle spaces with charging stations and two rows of bike racks. Security cameras are located on each floor of the garage.

The temporary Talon Park and Ride, located just south of the South Kirkland Park and Ride at 10700 Northup Way, closes on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Alternate parking will continue to be available at the Northwest University 6710 Building park and ride, 6710 108th Ave. NE in Kirkland. This park-and-ride is available weekdays from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is served by Route 255.

Construction continues on the mixed use housing and commercial portion of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project at the South Kirkland Park and Ride. The mixed-use housing project is scheduled to be completed in late 2014. During construction of the housing project, about 50 parking spaces in the northwest corner of the park-and-ride will be fenced for construction staging and will not be available for parking.
