Kirkland City Councilmember Bob Sternoff now has two opponents, as Chuck Hinson filed to run for Position No. 2.

Hinson, a Norkirk neighborhood resident, follows Kingsgate neighborhood resident Jason Gardiner in challenging Sternoff, who has served on the council since December of 1985.

If things remain the same, the three candidates would force a run-off election August 16, with the two highest vote getters advancing to the November general election.  Candidates have until 6 p.m. Friday to file to run for a council position or even change the position for which they are already filed to run.
