Southbound I-405 drivers may experience bumps on their commute home tonight

Drivers who use southbound Interstate 405 should prepare for bumps in the road as I-405 travels over Northeast 85th Street today.

The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

Drivers who use southbound Interstate 405 should prepare for bumps in the road as I-405 travels over Northeast 85th Street today. Contractor crews grinding the surface of the southbound I-405 bridge over Northeast 85th Street encountered an unforeseen obstacle last night as they prepared it for repaving that resulted in two noticeable bumps. They will remove the bumps tonight.

There are warning signs as drivers approach the area and WSDOT suggests southbound I-405 drivers slow down as they approach Northeast 85th Street. The work is part of the I-405 Bellevue to Lynnwood Express Toll Lanes Project.

In the Puget Sound region, drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, by tracking the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed, and get advanced information from the What’s Happening Now page.
