Six LWSD teams earn first place at National History Day State Event?

Thirteen Lake Washington School District students on five teams, and one individual, earned first place in their division at the National History Day State Event held at Green River Community College in Auburn, Wash. on May 2.

Thirteen Lake Washington School District students on five teams, and one individual, earned first place in their division at the National History Day State Event held at Green River Community College in Auburn, Wash. on May 2.

In total, 29 teams/individuals placed in the top six, with three groups winning special awards.

Four LWSD schools participated in the event, including: International Community School (ICS), Redmond High School, Redmond Middle School and Tesla STEM High School (Tesla STEM).

All first, second, and third place teams will move on to the National History Day contest to be held at the University of Maryland, College Park from June 14-18.
