Six Kirkland students receive Outstanding Interpretation Awards

Eighty-two Lake Washington students received awards through the Lake Washington PTSA Council’s Reflections program. This year’s theme for the Reflections art program was “Together We Can.” Students submitted entries in six different categories: dance/choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts. These 82 students received the following types of awards: Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit.

Six Kirkland students received “Outstanding Interpretation Awards” and will move on to the state-level PTSA competition:

Film Production:

· Middle/Jr.: Zachary McVicker, Thoreau El., “Help the World Become a Better Place”

Musical Composition:

· Intermediate: Anne Munoz, Twain El., “March De Especial”

· Senior: J.D. Laurence-Chasen, ICS, “Together We Can, Together Forever”

Photography:

· Middle/Jr.: Kendal Campbell, Evergreen Jr., “Together we can be ‘ourselves’”

· Senior: Jessica Latousek, Juanita High, “We did it!”

Visual Arts:

· Senior: Alejandra Guerrero, Juanita High, “Awareness Changes the World”
