Save Our Trail seeks volunteers for work party on Cross Kirkland Corridor

The Kirkland Save Our Trail group is having another work party on the Cross Kirkland Corridor (CKC) under the direction of Park Steward Karen Story at 8 a.m. on May 7 at the west side of the CKC at Northeast 59th Street.

The Kirkland Save Our Trail group is having another work party on the Cross Kirkland Corridor (CKC) under the direction of Park Steward Karen Story at 8 a.m. on May 7 at the west side of the CKC at Northeast 59th Street.

Come help remove more invasive scotch broom and blackberries along the CKC. The work location is flat and easily accessible. This work has been authorized by the city (vegetation removal along the CKC is only allowed with city permission).

Parking options:

From any of these parking locations, walk a short distance south to the work area (it’s 0.1 miles from Northeast 62nd Street).

  • On the west side of the CKC at Northeast 62nd Street (flat, easy access to the CKC)
  • On the west side of the CKC at Northeast 60th Street (walk a short uphill side trail to the CKC)
  • On the east side of the CKC at Northeast 60th Street (walk a short downhill side trail to the CKC)

Bring sturdy shoes, long sleeves, gloves (preferably leather for better protection against blackberry thorns), pruning saws, loppers and clippers.
