Police Blotter: Dec. 3 – Dec. 9

Between Wednesday, Dec. 3 and Tuesday, Dec. 9, the Kirkland Police Department reported 428 traffic violations (16 DUIs), 19 car accidents, 15 alarm calls, 13 assaults, 13 thefts, 12 vehicle prowls and 10 trespassing or unwanted person incidents. At least 48 people were arrested.

Dec. 3

Dumping: 9:31 a.m., 11700 block of N.E. 100th Street. An unidentified male suspect in his 20s allegedly dumped garbage at Spinney Homestead Park. A witness told police that he was driving a black Nissan 200 SX car.

Dec. 4

Suspicious event: 12:42 p.m., Seattle. Kirkland Police conducting surveillance with the Seattle Police Department made an arrest at an undisclosed Seattle location. No reason for the arrest was given.

Public urination: 1:20 p.m., 100 block of Park Lane. A 41-year-old homeless man was arrested for relieving himself against a wall on the east side of the municipal parking lot.

Vehicle prowl: 8 p.m., 11100 block of N.E. 68th Street. A 54-year-old female resident reported her Mercedes-Benz C230 was broken into overnight. The suspect smashed the driver’s side window to remove a pair of sunglasses and a gym workout bag holding the victim’s clothing. She later reported her home burglarized and a computer hard drive stolen.

Dec. 5

Indecent exposure: 7:01 p.m., 12400 block of N.E. 85th Street. A 24-year-old female resident noticed a man, in his early 20s, allegedly masturbating as the victim got into her car. The suspect was seated in a grey sedan parked next to her.

Assault: 9 p.m., 200 block of Third Street. An intoxicated 18-year-old resident was allegedly beaten by an unknown group of males after he struck a female juvenile in the face in Peter Kirk Park. Police arrested the 18-year-old for assault and alcohol violations.

Dec. 7

Controlled substance: 3:19 p.m., 11900 block of Slater Ave. Northeast. Stopped for a traffic violation, a 19-year-old Duvall woman was arrested for posession of a small quantity of marijuana.

Missing person: 4:47 p.m., 6700 block of Lake Washington Blvd. Northeast. A female resident reported her boyfriend missing after he hadn’t returned home from a Seahawks game. She later canceled the report after he called from a friend’s home in Lake City.

Dec. 8

Robbery: 12100 block of 104th Ave. Northeast. Unidentified suspects reportedly tried to snatch the purse of a 15-year-old female juvenile and threatened to beat her up. Police were unable to locate either the victim or suspects.

Domestic violence: 5:25 p.m., 11600 block of 124th Ave. Northeast. A 37-year-old male allegedly punched his girlfriend in the side of the head as they sat in a car. After witnesses contacted police, authorities found amphetamines during a search of the suspect. He was arrested on both counts.
