Parents looking for missing 15-year-old Kirkland girl thought to be in Seattle

A Kirkland family is looking for their 15-year-old daughter, who left home more than a week ago and is believed to be in Seattle with an older man.

Aizlyn Weimer, who sometimes goes by Ashley, was seen last night in the Capital Hill area by a person helping the family look for her. She was wearing black yoga pants, a spaghetti strap shirt and a blue backpack.

Her father, Chris Johnson, says his daughter is at-risk and believes she is hanging out with a local meth dealer. He said she was sighted at the Vintage Motel on Farm and Aurora, as well as two QFC grocery stores in Seattle.

“I just want to get her found before something horrible happens to her,” Johnson said.

Aizlyn’s mother, Shannon Weimer, said she left her Kirkland home in the middle of the night between July 2 and July 3.

“She left a note saying she loved all of us and that she thought she could be a good kid, had she not tried the hard stuff,” Weimer said, who added her daughter attended Emerson High School in Kirkland.

Her parents say an anonymous man said that Aizlyn went to the Youth Care Orion Center in Seattle but that she left with an “older gentlemen” thought to be near his 30s.

Another anonymous woman caller contacted Johnson and said Aizlyn had been staying in West Lake for the last three days.

A former drug addict, who works with Friends of Youth, has been helping Johnson and Weimer look for their daughter, which was how he was able to spot the girl with the man last night.

“He offered to help and I took him up on it because I’m not street savvy, I don’t know where to go, I don’t know where to look,” Weimer said.

But when the helper approached Aizlyn and the man she was with, Johnson said they ran away and “hopped on a bus” and got away.

Weimer said today she received a photo of one of the hundreds of missing-person flyers, which are plastered on the streets of Seattle, with a written address on it. She alerted police but has yet to hear back from them, although police have been heavily involved.

Johnson said Aizlyn started having problems when she developed an eating disorder and had to go to outpatient treatment at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. He said she’s run away within the last two years but began to abuse drugs around 40 days ago.

“She went from a straight A student to this overnight,” Weimer said, adding there is now a probation warrant out for her arrest for safety reasons. “I just want her in my custody to help her get whatever resources she needs. I want to get her home, get her safe and figure out what to do next.”

Aizlyn is 5-feet, 4-inches tall, 110 pounds, with long brown hair, braces, and piercings in her left ear.

If you have seen Aizlyn or have any information, call 911 or her parent’s phone numbers at 206-372-4936 (Weimer’s) or 206-235-4092 (Johnson’s).

*Editor’s note: Aizlyn was found the morning of July 14, sleeping under an onramp in Seattle. She was taken to Harborview for treatment.
