Between Sept. 20-25, the Kirkland Police Department reported 475 traffic violations, two DUIs, 19 traffic accidents, 25 school zone traffic violations, five animal calls, 33 alarm calls,

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.

Between Sept. 20-25, the Kirkland Police Department reported 475 traffic violations, two DUIs, 19 traffic accidents, 25 school zone traffic violations, five animal calls, 33 alarm calls, 18 noise complaints, nine calls of disturbance, 12 thefts, nine car prowls, 13 calls of civil disturbance, seven reported burglaries, 11 domestic violence calls, six calls for harassment, five reports of illegal drugs, one alleged assault, six acts of fraud, five malicious mischief reports, two robberies and seven suicide calls. At least 18 people were arrested.

Sept. 24

Warrant: 5 p.m., 14400 block of 124th Ave. NE. A 16-year-old girl was arrested on her misdemeanor juvenile warrant.

Sept. 23

Domestic violence: 5:30 p.m., 11100 block of NE 129th St. A 50-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly chocked and struck his 21-year-old son in the head. The man is alleged to have also thrown a cell phone at his son, which then struck his son’s wife in the leg.

Theft: 6:27 p.m., 12500 block of NE 85th St. A 21-year-old man was charged through investigation for shoplifting Skyy vodka and Jack Daniels whisky from the Rose Hill Safeway.

Sept. 22

Malicious mischief: 10 a.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 58-year-old man was arrested for putting an 18-inch scratch on the hood of a silver Chevy Tahoe.

Indecent exposure: 12 p.m., 11000 block of NE 68th St. A 52-year-old man was arrested after he was seen running through a parking lot completely naked by a 65-year-old woman. When the man was detained, he spit on one officer and attempted to spit on another.

Domestic violence: 6:11 p.m., 11600 block of NE 124th St. Police were dispatched to a verbal altercation between a 47-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man. The argument was about family issues, according to the police report.

Robbery: 9:30 p.m., 10500 block of Northup Way. A 22-year-old man alleged he was assaulted and robbed by a 20-year-old man and an unknown man in the La Quinta parking lot. He reported his back pack, Washington ID, wallet, money, clothing, two iPods and a cell phone are among the stolen items.

Sept. 21

Order violation: 6:54 p.m., 6500 block of 114th Ave. NE. A 53-year-old woman was charged for violating a temporary protection order when she went to a 58-year-old man’s house. When officers arrived, she fled in a 2001 Ford Expedition.

Sept. 20

Warrant: 9:06 p.m., 6900 block of 116th Ave. NE. A 30-year-old man was arrested on a Kirkland warrant for driving while his license was suspended and a Bellevue warrant for a DUI. Police found him riding through a park and ride in a “blacked out” BMX bike when he was arrested.
