Merrill Gardens pays tribute to local firefighters, 911

Merrill Gardens of Kirkland hosted a spaghetti dinner on Sept. 11 as a tribute to 911 and to raise funds for The Greater Kirkland Volunteer Firefighters Association.

During the evening, Kirkland reserve firefighters helped Merrill Garden staff wait on tables and mingle with the guests.

Patrick Coor, a reserve firefighter and president of the GKVFFA, said volunteers provide about 13,000 hours of service annually.

The event raised $1,000 for the association. For information, visit www.gkvffa.org.
