Between June 2-9, the Kirkland Police Department reported 452 traffic violations (nine DUIs), 24 traffic accidents, 18 noise complaints, 18 thefts, five domestic violence calls, 27 alarms, 14 motor vehicle prowls, four burglaries, 21 disturbances, eight cases of fraud, five harassment calls, five cases of illegal substances, nine malicious mischief cases, 17 civil issues, seven assaults, eight animal control calls and three reports of weapons. At least 35 people were arrested.

June 9

Warrant arrest: 9:23 p.m., 900 block of Sixth Street S. An officer responded to the Desert Sun Tanning Salon on a report of a man in a tanning bed with the door locked for over a half hour. The officer ran the man’s license plate to find a warrant for cyberstalking and domestic violence. After opening the door, police found the man asleep. The man was transported to the Snohomish County Jail on the warrant.

June 8

Assault: 7:46 p.m., 8500 124th Ave. N.E. A woman reported that her daughter was shot by an airsoft pistol while they waited for the bus. The woman described the suspect as a younger white male in the passenger seat of a black SUV with a lot of chrome. The victim was struck once in the upper chest and was unhurt but startled. Area check turned up negative.

Disturbance: 7:19 a.m., 1700 block of 147th Place. Reporting party said that roommates were yelling at each other over loud music. When officers arrived the four had already settled differences but one was found to have a warrant and was arrested.

June 6

DUI: 12:15 a.m., 1900 Market Street. A vehicle was stopped for a traffic infraction. The officer found the 19-year-old driver to be intoxicated and subsequently provided a blood alcohol content of .162. Two other 19-year-olds in the car were also found to be intoxicated and were arrested.

Weapons violation: 1 a.m., 8500 block of 122nd Ave. N.E. A 22-year-old New Castle man was arrested after brandishing his weapon to bouncers at Vallhalla. After a further confrontation, the man pulled out the gun and reportedly told the bouncers “come get shot.” The man was chased on foot by police for two blocks before he was taken into custody and still in possession of the pistol.

June 5

Assault: 11:20 p.m., 100 block of Kirkland Ave. An intoxicated 30-year-old Kirkland man picked a fight with the bouncer at Tiki Joe’s after being advised he could not leave the establishment with an alcohol container. The man was arrested for fourth degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Assault: 12:48 a.m., 7900 132nd Ave. N.E. Three to five Asian males began to hit a man sitting in his car in front of the Pho Express Restaurant. The man got out of the car and gave chase to one of the males. Another male in the car got out and was knocked down and punched in the front and back of the head. The passenger was taken to Evergreen Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Another passenger was found later in the passenger seat at the hospital with vomit all over himself and the inside of the car. The man submitted a blood alcohol content of .202 and was cited through the investigation. The suspects for the assault were not found.

Assault: 12:48 a.m., 7900 132nd Ave. N.E. Two teenaged brothers known to police as “serial eggers” were both involved in egging a homeless person by car. The vehicle was then observed in a Bridle Trails’ parking lot where they egged a second victim. Both subjects were arrested for assault.

June 4

Car prowl: 11 a.m., 4300 block of Lake Washington Boulevard N.E. A 30-year-old Kirkland man had his car prowled at his apartment. An Apple Mac Book Pro was taken from the vehicle.

June 3

Minor, liquor violation: 12:50 a.m., 11300 N.E. 124th Street. A male and a female were contacted at the north QFC walking through the parking lot. A case of Busch beer could be seen through a hole in the backpack and when he pulled his hands out of his pockets, another case of Bud fell to the ground. The female was located as missing and returned home. The 16-year-old male was arrested for minor in possession.

Liquor violation: 7:17 p.m., 500 8th Street South. A 43-year-old man told some juveniles that he had a knife and a shotgun. The man was also observed drinking beer from a Vitamin Water bottle. Also in the man’s possession was a Safeway shopping cart. The man was arrested for liquor in the park and theft of a shopping cart.

Warrant arrest: 6:05 a.m., 9500 block of N.E. 120th Street. A 39-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding Snohomish County warrant.
